
American Pulse™: 40% of Registered Voters Agree with Tea Party Principles
Americans Not Confident Government Policies Will Lower Unemployment, Get Economy on Track
COLUMBUS, OH – (MARKET WIRE) – 4/20/10 – It’s probably a good thing for the Obama administration not to increase tensions with “tea partiers” because 40.1% of registered voters say they agree/strongly agree with the principles of the Tea Party movement (limited government, lower taxes, anti-stimulus, anti-deficit and anti-bailout), according to the latest American Pulse™ survey of 5,058 Americans. It’s not surprising that 58.8% of Republicans agree with their philosophies, but what is interesting is that 43.9% of Independents and even 21.1% of Democrats have similar opinions.

Further, 70.9% of Americans have little-to-no confidence that the Government’s policies will help lower unemployment. This low level of trust is also evident when it comes to the economy as 68.5% don’t believe current strategies in Washington will get the financial system back on track.
